Why has my cooker hood light failed?

This is a very common problem and sometimes it’s more than just a case of changing the bulb. In many cases the plastic clips that secure the bulb in place get burnt causing the bulb to become loose and in some cases drop on to your hob. Electronic modules can also fail. Please remember that cooker hood lights are only supposed to be used over short periods, do not use them as an alternative light source. Why does my cooker hood have poor extraction?
